A brief summary of TCGB annual events (please see the calendar at the bottom of this page for specific dates, venues, times and additional information):
January – Welcome back to training after the Christmas break. The Annual General Meeting (AGM) provides an opportunity for TCGB members to discuss events from the past year and plan for the future.
March – TCGB National Championships – Kyorugi and Poomsae. The competition is run over 2 days, such is the demand for this long-standing, popular competition.
April – TCGB often hold training seminars with World Taekwondo Chungdokwan Grandmasters from South Korea.
May – TCGB Pre-Dan Grading Seminar. Open for blue belts, red belts and black belts. TCGB members are encouraged to make the most of this opportunity and gain experience. Attendees of the seminar do not need to undertake the Dan grading; promotion tests are optional. Enjoy the high-level training with senior grades only.
June – TCGB Dan Grading: Black tags (1st kup) and black belts (Dan grades). In addition, TCGB host a Training Day for Masters, Instructors and black belts within the association (aged 16 and over).
July – TCGB look to provide opportunities to travel and train in South Korea. Training at the World Taekwondo Headquarters, Kukkiwon and the World Taekwondo Chungdokwan Headquarters. TCGB look to send a team of Instructors and senior grades to courses with World Taekwondo leaders.
October – TCGB All-in-One Seminar. Training with Grandmasters, Masters, senior Instructors and VIP guests. Bring a packed lunch, have fun, enjoy the day. The seminar is for all grades and ages. Training takes place in 3 gyms (same venue), so practitioners can choose which activity to partake. The course covers many aspects of Taekwondo, such as sparring, self-defence, breaking, poomsae, theory and philosophy.
November – TCGB Pre-Dan Grading Seminar. Open for blue belts, red belts and black belts. TCGB members are encouraged to make the most of this opportunity and gain experience. Attendees of the seminar do not need to grade; promotion tests are optional. Enjoy the high-level training with senior grades only.
December – TCGB Dan Grading: Black tags (1st kup) and black belts (Dan grades). End of the year, Christmas break – even Instructors need a rest!
Training three times a day! Deadline for deposit has been extended to end of March 2019 – if interested, please get in contact with Grandmaster Lindsay Lawrence as soon as possible.
Please note, only the Instructor of the student taking the Dan Grading will be permitted into the examination hall.
