About Taekwondo Chungdokwan GB

Taekwondo Chungdokwan Great Britain is a dynamic and growing association with over 25 years of experience in providing the highest quality WTF training. We have clubs throughout the United Kingdom.

We are recognised by Grandmaster Woon Kyu Uhm, President of Chungdokwan Worldwide and Vice-President Grandmaster Park Hae Man as the official organisation of the Chungdokwan in the United Kingdom. If you are looking to train in the Kukkiwon style Tae Kwon Do, we can provide you with the training needed to develop to the best of your ability in basics, sparring (WTF style), poomse and self-defence.

Aim of Chungdokwan GB

The aim of the association is to develop a friendly association with a high technical standard in all aspects of Taekwondo. The association is open and democratic. We are not dominated by one central senior instructor, but value the contribution of all our clubs and instructors. Members are expected to play their part in the association's future development.

Objectives of Chungdokwan GB

  • To promote the practice, spirit, and sport of Tae Kwon Do;
  • To strengthen and develop the practice of Tae Kwon Do in Great Britain;
  • Unite and develop the Chungdokwan;
  • Organise, control, and regulate the practice of Tae Kwon Do within the association's membership;
  • Affiliate to and cooperate with all relevant local, national and international statutory bodies;
  • To operate a membership register, arrange insurance and raise and administer funds as necessary.

About Chungdokwan Great Britain Events

We provide a regular programme of gradings and seminars, with the opportunity to compete locally, nationally and internationally. If you are an instructor, we can provide you with a strong and experienced organisation to support you and your students, including seminars and gradings.

Chungdokwan Certification

As the officially recognised Chungdokwan association representing Great Britain, we can offer instructors and students the option to receive Chungdokwan Korea certification as well as applying for Kukkiwon certification. From 4th dan, applicants received an engraved plaque confirming their achievement in rank. This is something quite unique to the Chungdokwan family and is commensurate with the achievement of the rank. Please contact us for further information.

Our Instructors

All our instructors have undertaken an Instructors Course and are aware of the key issues surrounding instructing such as child protection and risk assessment. in additional, all TCGB instructors have full indemnity insurance and have passed a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check.

Taekwondo Chungdokwan Great Britain is affiliated to the Chungdokwan in Korea and is a group member of the BTCB, the national governing body for WTF Taekwondo and full member of the British Tae Kwon Do Council.
